OBTAINING & MAINTAINING your LICENSE in MISSOURI
To become a Licensed Landscape Architect in the state of Missouri you must:
- Be of Good Moral Character
- 21 years of age or older
- Have degree from accredited Landscape Architecture program
- Spent 3 years practicing post-graduation
- Pass all 4 sections of LARE
The first step towards gaining licensure is to register with CLARB. You may also choose to establish a CLARB Council Record if you plan on obtaining licensure in more than one state. Once registered with CLARB you can then schedule yourself for LARE.
Maintaining your License in Missouri:
Missouri requires Registered Landscape Architects to participate in activities that further their professional knowledge. Every two years, RLAs must obtain 24 Continuing Education Units, of which a minimum of 16 must relate to health, safety and welfare.
It is the responsibility of the RLA to maintain the CEU records for a minimum of four years. Records of attendance issued by the provider of the activity will meet this requirement. Missouri also requires those seeking to register or renew a license to have filed and paid all state income tax for the past three years.
