HortCo-Op Entertains ASLA at New Shaw Nature Reserve Sites
A private tour of the Whitmire Wildflower Garden with Curator Scott Woodbury and Andrew Wyatt, Vice-President of Horticulture at Missouri Botanical Garden, was an unexpected treat for guests. An equally wonderful surprise was the recent completion of several outdoor gathering areas that enhance the native landscape.
This is the second year that the HortCo-Op of St Louis has hosted ASLA St Louis for drinks in the garden and a wonderful dinner. Under the stately pavilion adjacent to the prairie, guests dined on Greek inspired cuisine catered for the event. A presentation by Andrew Wyatt of MBG on the future of the Garden's horticultural efforts rounded out the evening.
For those who haven't visited Shaw Nature Reserve lately, it is worth the time to come and see. The ever growing collection of native plants are showcased in an exquisite garden that makes selection of natives naturally appealing.
